The Cuvée Brut Tradition embodies the beginning of everything: the soul of Veuve Doussot in its most sincere form.

Tradition Brut is the cuvée with which everything began at Veuve Doussot. Our brand was founded in the early 1970s by Georges Joly and his sons, and it was this blend, this predominant Pinot Noir, this Chardonnay in discreet support, that laid the foundations.

Seven generations later, I still make it. 85% Pinot Noir, vinified without oak, carefully controlled dosage. No embellishment, no imposed stylistic signature. The soil speaks, I listen, I bottle it.

This is the cuvée I serve at the table on Sundays. The one we open without any occasion. The one that best expresses what our Côte des Bar is all about: a tough, generous, taciturn land.

Stéphane Joly

Tasting Notes

Trois moments pour lire un champagne.

01

Appearance

Pale gold with golden highlights. Fine, steady effervescence, a persistent cordon.

02

NOSE

Delicate and open. White flowers, acacia, a light touch of fresh citrus. Brioche notes underneath.

03

PALATE

Fresh and balanced. A round attack carried by Pinot Noir. A clean finish, lightly citrusy, with good length.
